dilemma of a marriage

Like bees to nectar, we became attracted;
Through encouragements and devotions,
Confidants and best friends we became.
For better, for worse, in sickness and in health”,
A solemn vow, entered in a joyous mood,
In the midst of our families and friends,
A beautiful whole, we have become.

A truly harmonious marriage, we visualised;
A common good, we sought to seek,
The sun as our guide, till the dusk of life.
A hovering cloud, a little shower of rain–
A bump on asphalt and cracks appeared,
With regrets, I curse that moment,
For we were the happiest of them all.

Accusations, allegations and fault finding;
Quarrelsome acts, substituted for our love,
Mercy recoiled, reason slipped to town,
Emotions nestled itself in the cranial cavity.
Two dichotomized beings, we evolved into,
Different contexts, two distinct individuals,
A far cry from a stunning couple.

How could love have escaped us?
Our laughter was music for the birds,
Blessing found its presence in our sight,
Joy, the winged fairy, lighted our paths.
And dedication felt warmth in our embrace,
How, she longs for such melodious passion,
A crossroad, our marriage has come to.
