a poisoned arrow

Like a mist, she glides across the spaces,
Draped in beauty’s stunning gown,
And charmed with adornment by chic–
She decrees presence, magical as a sweep.

As desirous as arousal, she invokes men,
Throbbing hearts and engulfing fantasies,
They smile logic away, citing emotions–
And their souls, they trade for her attention.

As shivery as a feather, her victims select,
Embracing their egos with her sensuality,
Swollen headed and pulsating buoyancy–
They convulse admiration into arrogance.

A heady partner, she stimulates virility,
Intoxicated with love, impelled with sex,
Served deliciously with erotic exquisite–
Good men, tasting her, let loose of selves.

Experiencing tidal waves of orgasmic ecstasy,
Respected men rupture their reputations,
Many a broken homes, a wrecked society–
The radiations emitting from her flight path.

The hearts of men, her flight’s destination,
An arrow poisoned with the deadliest toxin,
Evocating sensuality, men’s virtue diminishes–
Heedlessness and haughtiness, hang their heads.

arrogance of men

How apt, the way they affront us;

We, who made them leaders of the people,

We, who sang and chanted the slogans,

Bracing threats and trial, we gave hearts.

We gave little, they spurred with motivation;

We give much and they suffer arrogance,

Obsessive infatuations, as truth they preach,

Requiring us to eulogized them.

Admitting no limits, and clothed in conceit.

Their confidence has sadly gone awry,

Swathing inefficiencies and inner emptiness,

They venerate hollow edifices of ego now.

Manufactured eminence, they vaunt over us,

Causing us to dwell woefully on our limitations,

Fearing exposure, they suppress our views,

Using the media as their propaganda machinery.

They are afraid to become ordinary men;

Their pride has concretised into a hard crust,

And maturity has escaped them, insulating

Their senses and making them insensitive.

With bloated bellies and boastful tongues,

Chauvinism, lust and greed, has filled their hearts,

We, who hailed them, now covet their crucifixion,

And why not, they have become arrogant.

Arrogance is a viral disease – disseminating;

Breeding intolerance and manifesting egoism,

It’s the dominion of effrontery, pompously uppity,

A barrier on our will to love it has erected,

How can we hand leadership to diseased men?

They will, but contaminate us with their infirmity,

Our children, our image created, are at risk,

Rid men of their arrogance, our souls plead.

right or left???

Let us go this way, they said,
Nah, lamented the others,
They’re wrong, our path is better;
Bickering, the activity they performed.
Each, trying to persuade the public.
Fingers pointed; accusingly at others;
Persistently, they radiate their words,
As projects, flowering handsomely.

Hear them, hear us, verbose oratory,
Like us, they once were.
In ostentatious places, they dine now.
A vow, they have taken, to lead us:
To serve us, they claim is their delight.
The pledge, a better tomorrow.
As ironic as impotency and cocky as diabolism,
Does any of them know that we're dying?

Where to? We don’t know
How can they? Then:
Relentless visions and dreams,
Manifestos echoing reverberatingly,
Tirelessly, like clang in our ears.
Incomprehensible and animated;
They have confused and divided us,
Only then can they rule.

Hope, tis you we long for:
They lure us with your image;
Blurred and at a cost.
Of freedom, and of rights,
Hostilities and lies, acrimonious sown:
Greed slaver their tongues,
Different names, they call themselves;
Their objective, singular – milk us dry.

Slogans of unity, they campaign with
Why not a united front?
For country and for people?
Fear people who don't get along,
They have further sub-divided themselves.
The Centre, the Far Left, the New Right,
Left of Right, Right of Centre and more.
When are we going to learn?

Politicians, they call themselves,
What a profession; politics.
Tricksters, hypocrites and sycophants, they are
‘Trihypophants’ we should call them.
Their minds intoxicated with power;
To boast their ego and obscure their weakness,
They seek only, their interests.
Otherwise, why manipulatively confuse us.

We have to dig deep into ourselves
Tis courage we need.
Let us learn from the ants;
The book of Proverbs espouses us.
They don't have rulers,
And we are brainy then them.
What legacy are we leaving our children?
The ones we say we love.

Collectively, we are the new force,
Our concerns, our priority;
As one, we create a synergy,
Of talents, beauty and strength.
A harvest, will our economy be:
Our land will become rich and powerful,
A wealth nation, an affluent system,
Our legacy to our children.
