Growing up, I hoped for hope
Perfected in assenting eagerness
With a desire to control hope
I did hope for love
to choose my cares and laughs
as a soothing balm for my heart
I did hope for freedom
to run wild and fast with the wind
floating on the edges of the breeze
I did hope for maturity
to band all peoples as one family
in kindred and comradeship
I did hope for health
to bask in the sun till the dusk
defying age and illnesses
I did hope for truth
to harness humanity’s heights
converting it into love and affection
And I did hope for life
to live heartily and forever
an eternal paradise on earth
It was the hope that I hoped for
And it still flourish in my heart
Soon, that hope shall be mine

an escape destination
In between life’s harsh experiences,
An escape destination, designed
To ease our afflictions and woes–
Imagines of the ideals birthed there.
This destination, not a faraway, is
Encased in a cavity, inside our heads,
Therein the brain lies, holding minds–
Enabling thoughts and imaginations.
Such thoughts – called different names,
Fantasizes, dreams, ideas, obsessions,
Powerful enough to effect orgasms–
Is better than a wealth of knowledge.
They bring smiles into our hearts,
A source of inspiration, from whence
Hope dwells for a perfected world–
Imaged and internalised for tomorrow.
A destination where adjectives and verbs,
Are a couple unified in pursuit of feats,
Visualised without faults and failures–
That manifests the dominion of man.
Tis strange, such beautiful destinations,
Welled in people, yet doldrums reigns,
As ruthless as reality, callously insensitive–
To bruises and wounds, hurts and pain.
My imagines, an escape destination;
Creates and recreates, models of scenarios,
Of ideas, fantasies, aspirations and hope–
Preciously pricey, beyond wealth’s worth.

morning

Morning, it’s a new day;
Tis what the dawn gives way to’
With wings flapping,
Pride cloaks the cock.
A new verse and a new song,
Magnificently, proclaiming Morning’s presence.
Morning, there’s never a better time;
For Hope to smile,
Yawns subside and limbs stretched.
Optimism and strength are recovered,
Dreams rekindled,
A new will unearthed.

A new will unearthed.
Morning, tis when God is petitioned most;
Praises and requests rise up to heaven,
New thoughts and strategies.
A novel comradeship emerges,
Stuck between eagerness and assurance,
Whiles possibilities beckons.
Morning, sometimes I hate you.
Again, I can’t do this any longer;
Same stuff, faces, chores and events.
What says thou?
Will today be different? I wish.
Good or bad, I go forth this morning
Good Morning, we chant;
A clean sheet, a fresh smell,
What will we do with it?
The minutes, coiled in seconds,
Turns the clock and waits for no man,
Soon, it will be Afternoon.
