the eyes and a soul

Eyes, sullen and sunken stared at me
Never once did it stir, nor sparkle
A hardened look, it softened statues
Its gaze, passionately into my soul

The gaze projects an image of intents
Like the fiery angels in Eden’s garden
Penetrated deeper than depth’s deep
Making thoughts display its best deeds

Eyes, fairer and bluer than sapphire
Sits ahigh a throne, watching alertly
Divulging an awareness of bewareness
In savoury severity, it stripped nudity

The soul flinched in apprehension
Because, nothing hid from the eyes
The simplest manner to unearth truth
I learned a moment, is an incisive stare

Knowledge of beauty, given by sight
Was taught a soul, visualising wonder
And appreciating self-consciousness
Subjective, yet immobilising the view
