tis christmas
A gaily festivity descended on us,
And an aroma of carols filled all,
Tis Christmas, the bells tolled.
Christmas is a fulfilled promise,
Of God’s promise, His love,
Our hearts gladden with joy.
Tis Christmas, the bells tolled.
A christened celebration of gaiety,
With wishes and presents and you,
A greater love our earth rejoices,
Tis Christmas, the bells tolled.
Merry tidings, we freely share,
As we’ve receive, so do we give,
To fulfil the vision – oneness of us,
Tis Christmas, the bells tolled.

i saw an eclipse
Way before the day, people anticipated;
Even in this day and age, there were rumours.
What will happen, those few minutes?
Is it the end? The silence in people’s heart.
A massive educational campaign, unveiled;
Fit for an “Information Era”, reasons, effects.
Then emerged the entrepreneurs,
Good or bad, money had to be made,
In a globalised economy, consumerism reigns.
Souvenirs and artefacts manufactured;
Like hot cakes on market day, it sold.
Then came the day, I marvelled;
And darkness enveloped the morning,
A David defeats Goliath replay,
The moon eclipsed the sun in the day,
Not even the atrocities of human brutalities;
Or a government decreed curfew,
Could not have achieved such calm,
Quietness roared and stillness danced a waltz.
A stop work sign post, erected in ants territory,
Productivity and creativity slowed to a halt;
Truth and forgiveness filled the hearts of men.
God is wonderful, our Creator is alive;
He got us all attentive and sharp eared.
The wows echoed in the hearts of men–
The good, the bad and the evil;
In those few minutes, prayers and promises,
To God, to self and to others we made–
A start, a new beginning, resolutions penned,
An eclipse, I long for one each moment.

morning

Tis what the dawn gives way to’
With wings flapping,
Pride cloaks the cock.
A new verse and a new song,
Magnificently, proclaiming Morning’s presence.
Morning, there’s never a better time;
For Hope to smile,
Yawns subside and limbs stretched.
Optimism and strength are recovered,
Dreams rekindled,
A new will unearthed.
Praises and requests rise up to heaven,
New thoughts and strategies.
A novel comradeship emerges,
Stuck between eagerness and assurance,
Whiles possibilities beckons.
Morning, sometimes I hate you.
Again, I can’t do this any longer;
Same stuff, faces, chores and events.
What says thou?
Will today be different? I wish.
Good or bad, I go forth this morning
Good Morning, we chant;
A clean sheet, a fresh smell,
What will we do with it?
The minutes, coiled in seconds,
Turns the clock and waits for no man,
Soon, it will be Afternoon.
